Tree-Biotechnology Project
TGT is a full player in the Tree Biotechnology Project in partnership with Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI).
The project will increase the number of trees planted in designated woodlots, thereby alleviating the pressure on
Tanzania's natural forests. In the longer term the objective is to improve the large scale production and distribution
of several tree species of which eucalyptus is the first. This project will play a major role in poverty alleviation and
environmental conservation.
Low Cost Housing
TGT has entered into partnership with
HABITAT for Humanity in Tanzania to embark into a credit programme for low cost housing, starting with a pilot programme in
Zanzibar where in 2005 ten houses will be constructed.
Asset Development (Endowment building)
- The Trust continues to move
towards its stated objective of establishing an endowment fund sufficient to ensure self sustainability in the future.
- TGT is appealing to both Local and International Organizations and Individuals to support its Endowment Building
efforts for the permanent sustainability of its proverty alleviation programs or for contributions for specific in the
above mentioned fields.
