TGT/University of Dar es Salaam Techinology Program
TGT/University of Dar es salaam Technology Program is a collaboration between Collage of Engineering and Technology (CoET) and TGT on Appropriate Technology Acquisition and Transfer that date back to 2001. It aims at enhancing SMEs’ performance through Technology Development and Transfer (TDT). The agreed activities are being implemented within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was signed early in 2002 by the two institutions. The implementation of TGT/University of Dar es Salaam Technology programme and thus disbursement of funds is done on a yearly basis.
The project has continued to grow and has shown impact to the society since its inception; and in the year 2007, the following activities were undertaken:
- Student projects that have relevance to SMEs;
- Operationalization of Technology/Business Incubators;
- Operationalization of Gatsby Clubs in the Western zone
- SME Survey
- SME Stakeholders’ workshops
- Feasibility studies on low cost housing
